Financial Controller – WDM Corporate Office

The Western Development Museum – Corporate Office in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is seeking a FINANCIAL CONTROLLER.

The Financial Controller is responsible for applying accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. Working out of the WDM Corporate Office in Saskatoon, the Financial Controller will manage the day-to-day requirements of the WDM’s accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards, regulatory requirements, and WDM policies.

The Financial Controller is also responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in an accurate and timely manner; completing regular and timely bank reconciliations including journal entries and supporting documentation; and, developing, implementing, and evaluating internal control systems as well as finance-related policies and procedures.

This position requires an accounting degree or a professional accounting designation (CPA) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an accounting role. The incumbent must have a strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), excellent computer skills, proficient using Excel, and be detail-oriented and highly organized. Experience working with Sage300 is an asset.
