#AskAConservator Day - Nov. 18, 2020

Posted by Em Ironstar on November 5th, 2020

We’re participating in #AskAConservator day! Conservators around the world will be discussing their work on November 18th. We are thrilled to be partnering with conservator Raene Poisson for this online event!

Raene grew up on a farm in rural Southwest Saskatchewan, where her appreciation for the landscape inspired her artwork, and where the history of the area inspired her career path. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the U of S in 2014, she pursued a career in heritage and graduated with a post-graduate diploma in Cultural Heritage Conservation and Management from Fleming College in 2018. Since then Raene has worked in a number of institutions that have taken her across the country, with her current position being at the Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin in Williams Lake, BC. Although she has a tally going for the provinces she has lived in, she’s hoping to permanently work in Saskatchewan in the future.

We invite you to send us your conservation questions ahead of time! Please join us live on Facebook, YouTube, Periscope (Twitter) and Zoom  (Meeting ID: 894 7700 7724 Passcode: 175125)  from 2pm - 3pm (CST) while Raene works on a conservation project and answers your questions.

In addition to all of the broadcast places listed above, you will be able to see the livestream below when it broadcasts:
