Social Media Associate – Heritage Regina Contract position. Up to 20 hours/week. Compensation: $19-20 an hour, pending experience.

Purpose: Under the direction of the Executive Director, oversee all Heritage Regina social media accounts, as well as the Heritage Regina website. Create and post content, review analytics, and recommend improvements. Develop strategies to increase followership and engagement. Accountability: Reporting to the Executive Director (ED)

Duties: 1. To develop and recommend content for a regular series of social media posts related to the interests of Heritage Regina on Heritage Regina’s social media channels. Research for these posts as required, including archival research. 2. Recommend social media plans for Heritage Regina major events such as, but not exclusively, the Walking Tour and Lecture Series. (ie: utilizing Facebook events, scheduled posts, etc.) 3. Promote Heritage Regina events and community related activities such as advocacy, partnering etc. using social media channels. 4. Engage with followers following prescribed parameters. 5. Website maintenance and updating as required (WordPress) 6. Assist in creation and distribute Press Releases as required; send out e-blasts 7. In coordination with the ED, establish and share schedules for social media posts, website updates etc. to ensure consistent and appropriate content. 8. Review analytics and recommend changes and/or improvements to social media and website that will enhance our ability to engage with the community. This includes monthly updates to the ED for board meetings.

Expectations: 1. To carry out the above duties in a professional manner. 2. Work cooperatively with the Heritage Regina organization, volunteers, partners and any other community members that engage with the organization. 3. Recommend social media posts and plans which support the mission, vision and values of Heritage Regina. 4. Communicate to the ED any issues, concerns, problems with social media channels functions, those interacting with our channels or with content. 5. While this is a primarily remote position, it is expected that the social media associate attend Heritage Regina programming and activities as possible, in order to document them on our socials. Residence in or around Regina is necessary.
