What We Do

MAS offers a variety of programs and services that contribute to the advancement of Saskatchewan museums, including:

Membership. MAS has a variety of institutional and individual memberships. A membership with MAS provides organizations with all of our available programs and services. Members also help to promote a strong and collective voice for the museum community.

Education and Professional Development. MAS offers a range of Educational and Professional Development programming, such as the Certificate in Community Museum Studies Program and a variety of Special Topic Courses offered each year.

Advisory Services. Our Museums Advisor is available for consultations, including on-site visits with member museums.

Publications. MAS has a variety of publications created specifically for Saskatchewan museums. We also have an extensive resource library featuring over 1,200 titles available for loan.

Museum Networking. Member museums are divided into networks and meet each spring and fall to share information and ideas, discuss issues and concerns and work together on joint projects.

Annual Conference. MAS hosts a themed conference each spring with keynote speakers and breakout sessions covering a variety of topics relevant to the museum community. Our Annual General Meeting is also held at this time.
