The WDM is seeking a Programs and Volunteer Associate Manager to provide leadership in the development and oversight of programming and volunteer engagement strategies. This role ensures that WDM programming aligns with strategic priorities, museum best practices, and community needs while integrating volunteers throughout the WDM’s operations. This position develops the frameworks, systems, and resources that support implementation of local programs and volunteer initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: • Facilitates the development evaluation, and refinement of education and public programs, ensuring historical accuracy, accessibility, and relevance. • Develops programming strategies in alignment with WDM’s strategic plan and Curatorial priorities. • Establishes evaluation metrics for program impact, reach, and engagement, regularly assessing effectiveness. • Provides guidance and resources for local implementation of educational initiatives, public programs, and museum led events. • Oversees curriculum content development, ensuring alignment with WDM strategy and museum standards; and leads the organization and administration of specialized training courses. • Establishes and maintains policies and best practices for recruiting, training, and recognizing volunteers. • Supports the growth of community partnerships to strengthen volunteer recruitment and engagement. • Collaborates with Museum Managers to ensure volunteers are effectively integrated into Museum operations. • Develops metrics to measure outcomes of programs and volunteer initiatives. • Oversees and maintains a complete database of WDM volunteers and ensures accurate tracking of volunteer participation and contributions across all WDM locations. • Shares programming knowledge and enthusiasm for WDM programming internally and externally (e.g., through blogs, programs, publications, conferences, etc.). • Works with marketing and communications staff to develop content for social media, web site, newsletters, annual reports, etc., to recognize volunteer contributions and promote programming and volunteerism at the WDM. The work schedule is full-time with 72 hours per 2-week pay period. This position includes paid sick leave, participation in the Public Employee’s Pension Plan (with employer contribution matching), and health and dental benefits as per the WDM Benefits Package.
