The Museum is looking for a student Camp Coordinator to work in the Museum from June through August 2025. The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The Camp Coordinator is responsible specifically for the instruction of the Museum’s highly popular Ancient & Medieval Adventures Camps for children aged 6-7 and 8-10.
The candidate should have extensive undergraduate training in History, Classics, Archaeology, Art History, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates pursuing a degree in Education, or who have equivalent experience working with children in an organized educational setting. The successful candidate should have basic computer knowledge and experience in the use of PowerPoint. They must be high-energy and work well with others as well as independently, and have above-average research, leadership, writing, and organizational skills. They must have excellent communication skills and must enjoy interacting with the public, both adults and children. The successful candidate is required to have or obtain their First Aid Qualification certificate, a criminal record check, and a vulnerable sector check.
Previous museum experience is not necessary. Additional general duties related to day-to-day Museum operations will be required, including opening and closing the Museum at scheduled hours, administrative duties related to the Ancient & Medieval Adventures Camps, and other Museum-related duties which may be assigned by the Director.
