The Museum is looking for a student Education Coordinator to work in the Museum from May 1 through August 29, 2025. The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The Education Coordinator is responsible specifically for the planning, organization, administration, delivery, and supervision of the Museum’s highly popular Ancient & Medieval Adventures Camps for children aged 6-7 and 8-11. The candidate should have extensive undergraduate training in history, classics, archaeology, art history or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates pursuing a degree in education, or who have equivalent experience working with children in an organized educational setting. The candidate should have experience in museum-related software, especially in PowerPoint. The candidate must work well with others, as well as independently, and have above-average research, leadership, writing, and organizational skills. The candidate must have excellent communication skills and must enjoy interacting with the public, both adults and children. The successful candidate is required to have or to obtain their First Aid Qualification certificate, a criminal record check, and a vulnerable sector check. Previous museum experience is not necessary. Additional general duties related to day-to-day Museum operations will be required, including opening and closing the Museum at scheduled hours, offering tours for camp participants, administrative duties related to the Ancient & Medieval Adventures Camps, and other Museum-related duties which may be assigned by the Director.
