The Western Development Museum (WDM) is looking for an Operations Manager to oversee operations at the WDM Moose Jaw. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about museums and their role in the community, and has the leadership skills to support staff, volunteers, and local initiatives. The WDM aspires to embody Saskatchewan’s diverse cultural heritage and inspire curiosity in our shared histories. As the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in helping the WDM achieve its public trust responsibilities by managing daily operations, leading fundraising efforts, and supporting staff and volunteers. You’ll be responsible for ensuring resources are managed effectively while maintaining a community-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities: • Create welcoming and inclusive spaces for staff, volunteers, and visitors. • Lead museum operations, including creating and implementing plans that align with the WDM’s strategic goals. • Manage human resources, including hiring, supervising, and supporting staff. • Handle financial processes, such as interpreting financial statements, budgeting, and making forecasts. • Ensure administrative tasks are handled, including enforcing policies, following financial procedures, and meeting legislative requirements. • Communicate effectively to build strong relationships and promote the WDM Moose Jaw’s presence in the local community.
