Housed in the city’s first post office building, constructed in 1912 and a designated heritage site, the museum features three floors of exhibits that chronicle the history of the area. Features include a replica of the 1878 Humboldt Telegraph Station, that served as a communications post during the resistance at Batoche in 1885, an exhibit on the St. Peter’s colony, and more. The gallery features travelling and local art exhibits on two floors.  Each site has a gift shop and is wheelchair accessible to all levels.  The museum also operates the Original Humboldt site, located just an 11 km drive from Humboldt.  This self-guided site has interpretive panels, walking trails and art installations that tell the incredible stories of the land.
