Plan to spend a few hours on the grounds of the Living Forestry Museum! Located in the N.W. corner of Nipawin and spread across fourteen acres of treed parkland, The Living Forestry Museum is a makeshift community reflecting the harsh life that greeted early settlers to this wild, heavily forested region of Saskatchewan.
Browse amongst the many antique-filled houses, buildings and barns scattered throughout the park. Watch for the old prairie schoolhouse, a small church, the Nipawin railway station (complete with 2 hands-on cabooses) and more!
Among the displays in the park you’ll find the museum’s set of functional clay ovens. Each Canada Day (July 1st) these ovens are fired up and kept busy baking hundreds of loaves of bread (generously donated by Family Bakery in Nipawin) which go on sale to the public in the afternoon.
Stop in and discover the Nipawin Living Forestry Museum!
