The Fort Pelly-Livingstone Museum, which was located at the old high school building burned in June of 2015 and the museum was then moved to the old RCMP barracks at 401 3rd Ave South, Canada. The museum is named for two Parks Canada Historic Sites.
Fort Pelly is a former Hudson Bay trading post. Fort Livingstone is the location of the first seat of government of the North West Territories and the first barracks of the North West Mounted Police. Both historic forts are within 8 km of the present day Village of Pelly.
The museum consists of three buildings – the RCMP barracks, Anglican church and train station. The museum features a range of artifacts from the village’s early days of both Fort Pelly and Fort Livingstone.
