The Melfort & District Museum’s collection showcases over 44,000 artifacts, the majority of which relate to pioneer life in Saskatchewan. The Settler Village consist of 23 buildings with a planned expansion project. Newer buildings and projects include the Indigenous Peoples and Archeology Building, a dentist office, cafe, laundry, and the restoration of a 1912 caboose.
The museum hosts several special events including an Annual Christmas Village, weekly summer barbecues, community celebrations, educational programming, and guided tours.
A significant portion (several thousands) of the museum’s holdings are photographs and documents which are on file and available for access to anyone interested.
